Pastor Chris Engelberth
Chris has lived in Cecil County, Maryland most of his life. He was saved at the age of eight,
surrendered his life to the Lord and was baptized in 1994, at the age of twenty-one. Shortly
after he was led of the Lord to begin work in youth ministry. In 1995 he met the love of his
life, Liz, and in 1997 they were married. Chris surrendered to the call to preach God’s word in
2000, and was ordained in January of 2001. He then served for 18 months as Youth Pastor in
Clearwater Beach, Florida. He was led of the Lord to pastor LifeSong in 2003, where he has
served ever since. He and his wife Liz are happily married and have two daughters, Laney
and Zoe. Some of his greatest joys are to spend time laughing with and enjoying the company
of his wife and children. Pastor Chris has a background in manufacturing and is a machinist
by trade. he enjoys all aspects of motorsports and is a hobbyist engine builder and car
enthusiast. He longs to use everthing God has given to show a world hurting from sin, the
Saviour, who is willing to save and heal. He has a deep yearning for the lost and to see the
body of Christ unified by the truth God has proclaimed!
Elder Scotty Johnson
Scotty was born and lived in North Carolina until the age of 9 when he moved to Maryland.
He and his wife Susie have been married since 1962. They have two grown children, son
Chris and daughter Jill, and five grandchildren, 2 boys and 3 girls. Scotty served his country
in the Army from 1961 to 1964, including 13 months in Korea. He retired from the federal
government in 2002. He was saved and baptized in 1980 and served in the Baptist church
until 2008. he then became part of the LifeSong Christian Church family where he was called
and ordained as an elder on February 27, 2011. He enjoys woodworking, doing church
projects, spending time with the grandchildren and browsing antique shops with his wife.
Scotty and Susie have servants hearts and give freely and graciously of their time and talents
wherever they see a need. They have a true love for people and for the Lord that shows
clearly in their many acts of kindness.
Elder Doug Hokuf
Doug has resided in Cecil County for most of his life. A pastor’s son, he grew up in his dad’s
church where he gave his heart to Jesus as a child and rededicated his life to God as a
teenager. He and his wife, Deanna, met at an Elkton-area church and were married in 1999.
They have four children, Brandon, Julia, Levi and Gideon. He and his family came to LifeSong
Christian Church in 2009. Being called by the Lord, Doug was ordained as elder in February
2011. Doug, a professional engineer, works for New Castle County, Delaware where he has
been since 2000. He enjoys spending time with his family outdoors exploring God’s creation
as they hike, geo-cache and boat. He also enjoys hunting and fishing.
